It shows how mean whites are even to little kids. She gave up so much just to get an education. White parents would not let her be in the same room as their children. It just showed that nothing can stop you if you really want something. I don't think it should have come to Ruby having to walk in with U.S Marshalls. It just shows how don't care about blacks at all.
